Persistence, sacrifice and sheer hard work always pays off in the end and that is why Sarah Bombell made the 2008 Olympics with the Australian synchronized swimming team.
Sarah’s motto “The pain of discipline is far less than the pain of regret” probably goes some way to explaining the past few years:
Sarah has held state titles in 2003, 04, 05, National titles in 2003, 04, 05, 06, and competed internationally 2004, 05, 06, 07, 08. And during this time has completed a Bachelor of exercise science and is studying at Griffith University for a masters in physiotherapy
Here at Hank’s Place Australia we have among our clients 14yr old Jade Brandt, who has been a client of ours since June 2007.
Jade’s main focus is middle distance running and has been competing at National level since the age of 10.
To outline this, over the past year Jade represented Queensland at the Australia All Schools in Cross Country and Track & Field and took home medals from these events.
Jade was also selected by Little Athletics for the U13 Queensland state team to compete at the Nationals in Perth and then in February 2008 for the Australia cup where Jade placed 1st for the 800m.
In 2007 Jade took the 5km series winner at the Sanctuary Cove Corporate Challenge Fun Run for her age group. Later in the year Jade had an outstanding win at the Bank of Queensland 1500m Classic. These are just some of the events Jade has made her presence felt in.
Jade is now in training for the longer distances as Cross Country season approaches for 2008, but Jade’s main goal for this year is to make the Pacific School Games for Track & Field in Canberra in December.
